This Spring I think we have had enough rain and thunderstorms the last couple weeks to more than take us out of drought conditions of the last year or two. This morning we have seen "weather alerts" warning us of strong T'storms and hail, and sure enough dime-sized hail is pounding the metal roof of our cabin at the moment.|Blue Ridge, GA|AskaGuide|2009-5-8

First freeze warning tonight here in the North Georgia mountains. I covered some Foxgloves, A.K.A. Digitalis that appear to be ready to bloom, in almost November! Great web site to record data like this so we can look back and know in the next years when freezes and important migrations and other natural events are observed. Please keep observing, AskaGuides! Keep up the good work webmasters!|Fannin County|Jethrine|2007-10-29

The ICE warning temperature gauge on my truck alarmed me today as I left for my day job at 4:45 AM. The air was crisp and dry, the sky was clear and full of stars. The high temperature day before yesterday was in the 80s. What a plunge. This is Appalachia weather in October.|Blue Ridge|Cliff|2007-10-12
Tonight you must take a look at the moon in crescent with Venus adjacent, in the West after sunset. It is a spectacular sight, and has been that way for millennia. Cave paintings of ancient man have recorded this phenomena.|Eastern US|AskaGuide|2007-5-20
